In almost every town and village in Chianti, there are great restaurants, using just-picked produce and other seasonal local meat products to determine the menu.

Barberino Val D’Elsa: Osteria Antica Querica, ocated next to the Romanesque church of San Appiano, this cozy and charming restaurant serves typical Tuscan cuisine with a touch of southern spirit as the owner, Alessandro, comes from the Naples area. Delicious food, try the seafood antipasto. Large outdoor area.
Castellina in Chianti: Ristorante di Pietrafitta, localita Pietrafita 41, Phone: +39-057-774-112, the terrace of this 130 year old building looks out on classic views of vineyards and olive groves. Some of the favorite dishes on the menu are bistecca alla fiorentina and stracotto, a pot roast that’s slow cooked with tomatoes, onions, rosemary and red wine.
Colle Val d'Elsa: Ristorante Arnolfo, Via XX Settembre 50, Phone: +39-0577-920-549. The very best cuisine in the Siena area, with Michelin stars to prove it. Fabulous tasting menus of 6 or more small courses; expect to pay more than $100 per person, and you can also order a' la carte. Have a memorable lunch or dinner when driving by to San Gimignano or Volterra. Food is elevated to a fine art.

The building that houses their delightful restaurant dates back to the 1400’s when it served as the town’s public oven.
